LAST WEEK’S PICK:
Last week’s pick – a 15″ Vintage Tex Tan Hereford Pleasure Saddle – generated a lot of action with 37 total bids. These vintage pleasure/trail saddles are really popular, and for good reason. This saddle ended up selling for $312.77, a fair price.
THIS WEEK’S PICK:
This week we’ve found a really nice barrel racing saddle from Cactus Saddlery. This saddle is from their signature series – a 14.5″ Charmayne James Barrel Saddle. Charymayne James is a world champion barrel racer.
The saddle is in like-new condition with obviously very few rides on it. It’s a really attractive saddle - medium oil with acorn, leaf, and barbwire tooling, rough out jockeys and fenders for grip, and a light pink suede seat to add a bit of pizazz for the competition arena. The seller says the gullet width is 7 inches.
Cactus Saddlery makes a nice saddle and this one is in great condition. This would be a very nice saddle for a youth or small adult for competitive events or a bit of light trail riding.
As of this writing, there are only 2 bids and a high bid of $102.50.

I described last week’s Pick, a very nice 16″ Crates Trail Saddle – as a bargain waiting for a buyer. And one lucky buyer got him or herself a very nice bargain for only $480.
This week we’ve found another great saddle bargain – a very handsome 16″ ranch saddle from Cactus Saddlery. Cactus Saddlery is a small, high quality brand that’s known mostly for their performance saddles.
This saddle is in as-knew condition and a real beauty. With a 7 1/4″ gullet, it’s built for a broad shouldered horse. The saddle has barb wire and shell tooling and a handsome high back cantle.
As of this writing there are already 10 bids but the highest bid is only $202.50. Someone is trying to steal this, baby.

This week we’ve found a real gem for the smaller folks. This is a 14" All Around saddle from Cactus Saddlery. Cactus Saddlery is a small, high quality brand that’s known mostly for their performance saddles. They promote themselves as the official saddle of the PRCA (Pro Rodeo Cowboys Assoc.). This saddle, however, was made for one of the daughters of Cactus Saddlery owners.
The saddle is in wonderful shape. It has a gullet that is approximately 6 3/4" wide, stainless steel inskirt rigging, floral tooling on the skirts, fenders, fork and cantle and rough out side jockeys,. The seat is brown alligator and the conchos have a cross motif. This is one fine saddle.
As of the writing of this post, the bid is only $256! And there is no reserve, so the saddle will sell. If it’s too small for you, it could be a great fit for a youth rider. And, take good care of it and you’ll be able to resell it for a good price when they outgrow it.
