LAST WEEK’S PICK:

Last week’s pick – a great old classic 15″ Vintage Simco Trail Saddle – caught quite a few bidders’ interest. There were 21 bids, but the final sale price that was still only $177.50. As we described it,  this saddle was truly a “recession” pick. A great little saddle for a great little price.

Vintage Big Horn SaddleTHIS WEEK’S PICK:

This week we found another great little recession candidate – a vintage Big Horn saddle. The older Big Horns are nice, solid saddles.

This week’s pick, is a 15″ Big Horn All Around Saddle that is really an attractive little saddle. In dark oil, with a suede seat, fully floral tooled and a touch of silver trim on the skirt corners, this classic saddle has that great vintage style.

The saddles appears to be in great shape for it’s age and well cared for. The seller states that the gullet width is 6 3/4″.

As of this writing, there have been 6 bids and a top bid price of $88.79.   This would be a great saddle for a youth or small adult or just as an extra saddle for your barn. It certainly won’t break the bank.

Used Circle Y All Around Saddle

LAST WEEK’S PICK:

Last week’s Pick, a very well cared for 15″ Crates All-Event Saddle, went for $700 to a buyer who used ebay’s “Buy it Now” feature to make sure they got the saddle. A good buy for a saddle that will provide years and years of good riding for both horse and rider.

THIS WEEK’S PICK:

This week we’ve found one of those great older Circle Y saddles that had so much style. Circle Y used to be considered the best production saddle brand around. But since their purchase by Tucker, the quality of their design and craftsmanship, sadly just isn’t what it used to be

This saddle is a 30 year old, 15 inch, general purpose Circle Y saddle. The seller is calling it a “ladies” saddle, but I doubt Circle Y marketed it as such. It’s a smaller and lighter saddle at 29lbs, which is probably why they’re labeling it a “ladies” saddle.

The saddle is built on a rawhide-covered, wood tree and has a 6.5″ gullet and 7/8 in-skirt rigging. It really is a very attractive saddle with full floral tooling, buck stitching, and a suede seat. It’s been well cared for and is ready to ride. This is a nice, classic, well-built saddle that would be a great trail and general use saddle.

Used Courts Sharon Camarillo All-Around Saddle

Last week’s Pick, a solid, older Circle Y Roping Saddle – wasn’t an undiscovered gem. It had 40 bids and ended up selling for $451. I think the buyer got a nice saddle for a fair price.

This week we’ve found a handsome Sharon Camarillo (a famous Barrel racer) All-Around saddle from Court’s Saddlery. Court’s is a quality maker. The saddle has a 14″ suede seat, tooling on the fork and skirts, rawhide, silver-laced cantle binding, and a 6 3/4″ gullet. It’s in great condition with many, many miles to go.

So, far there’s only a couple of bids with the current bid at only $103.50. This would be a very nice saddle for a youth or small adult to find under the tree on Christmas morning.
