The Ranch Vacation of Your Dreams

Time to start thinking about those summer vacations. Have you ever wanted to experience life on a real working cattle ranch? I sure did. Six years ago I took the vacation that changed my life. I went to Bonanza Creek Country in Martinsdale, Montana.

The Voldseth family (June, David, Vance and Kim) own and operate Bonanza Creek Country, an intimate guest ranch (only 8-16 guests), along with their 25,000 acre working cattle ranch. They offer a wonderful ranching experience. This isn’t about taking a short nose-to-tail ride once a day and spending the rest of the day at the pool. No, at Bonanza it’s all about exploring beautiful country from the back of a good horse and participating in real ranching activities. This is the real stuff. And all tied together by the wonderful hospitality of the Voldseths.

So, how did this vacation change my life? Well, that one vacation turned into an annual return for the next five years. The Voldseths became good friends. I fell in love with Montana and the way of life it offered. I now live in Montana and get to ride this country regularly. But every summer, I still have my annual pilgrimage to enjoy the hospitality, commraderie, and wonderful riding of Bonanza Creek.

Maybe this is the year for your own trip to Bonanza Creek? Maybe I’ll see you there.
