Western Saddle History . . . Finally
I've finally created a section on the Western Saddle Guide site about the History of the Western Saddle. I'm a bit embarrassed that it's taken me this long to write about a topic that's so central to a site all about the western saddle.
It wasn't for lack of interest. I'm a history buff. I love this stuff. I've read book after book about the development of the western saddle. I have to admit that the problem was that I was a bit intimidated. There were so many influences on the development of the western stock saddle (geography, climate, working styles, cultures, time, individuals, etc.), so many twists and turns, that it's tough to get your arms around it. How to do it justice?
Well, instead of stewing about it I finally just took a stab at giving you a broad overview combined with a chronological timeline. I hope you find it worthy.
