Every week we scour the Internet searching for a particularly juicy bargain on a high quality used western saddle and feature it here on the WSG Saddle Blog. The saddles featured are listed for sale on ebay as of the date of the post.

Last week’s Pick, a solid 15″ Dakota Roping Saddle generated 16 bids and sold for $330 – not a steal, but still a good deal.

THIS WEEK’S PICK:

This week we have a bit of a puzzler – a very solid looking barrel saddle from an unknown maker. The seller lists no maker in the listing.

It’s odd to see a saddle of this caliber with no maker’s mark, so, if you’re interested in this one, I’d recommend emailing the seller to see if they might have just left it off the listing.

You’ll find a lot of folks steering clear of this saddle because of the lack of brand or maker, but I think it’s definitely worth taking a chance on it. It’s a well balanced saddle, made from quality materials, and has been well cared for.

The saddle has a 15.5″ suede seat, semi-QH bars, and some geometric tooling on the fenders, jockeys and skirts.

As of this writing there are no bidders and the starting bid is only $149.95. I’d keep an eye on this one and look at swooping in at the end of the auction and scooping this one up for a song. Barrel saddles make nice, light general riding saddles and this is a good little saddle.
