Used Saddle Pick of the Week: 15″ Dakota Roping Saddle

The “Used Saddle Pick of the Week”

Every week we scour the Internet searching for a particularly juicy bargain on a high quality used western saddle and feature it here on the WSG Saddle Blog. The saddles featured are listed for sale on ebay as of the date of the post.

Checking out our Picks each week will give you some great insight into buying used saddles. Make sure to click through to the actual listing to see all of the photos and description from the seller.

The Western Saddle Guide is not the seller of the saddles featured and does not make any representations about them. We encourage all potential buyers to do their own due diligence on the seller and the saddle before purchasing.

LAST WEEK’S PICK:

Last week’s Pick, a well crafted 15.5″ Custom Earl Twist Roping Saddle ended up being the bargain I thought it might turn out to be. While there were 26 bids, the saddle went for only $605. The buyer definitely got much more than they paid for. I suspect that Earl Twist isn’t as well known as some other custom makers, so folks mistakenly let this one pass them by.

THIS WEEK’S PICK:

This week we go back to a production brand – Dakota. Dakota is well known for producing plain, but very solid saddles. These aren’t fancy saddles but they’re well constructed and well priced.

This week’s pick is a solid 15″ Dakota Roping Saddle. The saddle is medium oil with no tooling, a suede seat, and full quarter horse bars. It’s been well cared for with the leather in good condition and the stirrups nicely turned.

This would make a nice all around saddle for someone. There are two bids as of this writing, with a high bid of only $50.  This is another bargain looking for a buyer.
