Used Saddle Pick of the Week: 13" Dakota Youth Barrel/Trail Saddle
The "Used Saddle Pick of the Week"
Every week we scour the Internet searching for a particularly juicy bargain on a high quality used western saddle and feature it here on the WSG Saddle Blog. The saddles featured are listed for sale on ebay as of the date of the post.
The Western Saddle Guide is not the seller of the saddles featured and does not make any representations about them. We encourage all potential buyers to do their own due diligence on the seller and the saddle before purchasing.
Last week's Pick, a plain, but still handsome Bob's Custom Roping Saddle, sold for $1800 - a chunk of change, but a good price for this high quality saddle.
This week we've found a very nice saddle for the youth rider - a 13" Dakota Barrel/Trail saddle. Dakota is a maker of solid, but not fancy, saddles. What I like about them is they put the money into the foundation and not into bells and whistles.
This youth saddle would be a saddle that you could feel comfortable having your child ride in. It's well made and solid, with a deep seat, high cantle, and roughout fenders and jockeys for grip. It will last a long time so could be a great hand-me-down to other kids in the family or will hold it's value for resale.
