Alvin Whitehair, a subscriber to our monthly email newsletter, “Saddle Sense,” wrote me in response to our recent newsletter article about the tradition of Navajo saddle blankets.

Alvin shared with me the website of a wonderful organization called Adopt-a-Native Elder Program, a non-profit program that supports members of the Navajo Nation still living traditionally and supporting themselves on their land.

Part of the website’s efforts is to showcase and market the traditional products of the Navajo, including their wonderful woven textiles. Visit their website and their Rug Catalog and you’ll have the opportunity to see and buy authentic Navajo blankets and rugs.
