Oh, we are busting our buttons here in Dillon, Montana! Our very own resident master saddlemaker, George Holt, has been awarded the Academy of Western Artists’ prestigious Saddlemaker of the Year award for 2007.
Past winners of this award have included a who’s who of the top western saddlemakers – Don King, Steve Mecum, Don Butler, Chuck Stormes, Chas Weldon.
George Holt (aka G.T. Holt) is a very worthy addition to this extremely talented group. His saddles are always beautiful, but more importantly in this neck of the woods, they are very fine using saddles and coveted by working cowboys far and wide. So coveted that George has a three year waiting list for one of his saddles.
You can see more examples of George Holt’s craftsmanship on our Saddle Decoration page where we’re proud to showcase his work.
The awards will be held August 7th in Garland, Texas. Oh, we are so proud. Congratulations Mr. Holt!
