As a woman in her 50's , it became harder to do my own saddle . Arthritis . Not wanting to give up the best past time of my life I decided to try to find the lightest saddle possible . There are 3 levels of treeless out there , tried them all . Not only can I saddle my own horses now I only need one saddle to take up the truck ! The Barefoot brand was by far the best for several reasons . Cost was not a factor . Stabliity , comfort and weight were what I went on . If I were in the saddle business , I would start paying more attention to how things are done in Europe , and open my eyes to the fact that baby boomers don't want to stop their fun, they want technology to solve issues that will enable them to keep on having FUN !! Not ALL people who ride need a working saddle ! I would say the majority of us trail ride , and socialize while doing it :-) Broke my tail bone being thrown in my teens and this saddle beat out the Tucker as far as being able to ride for 5 to 6 hours . The traditional western saddle is not for the baby boomer group . It's for the working ranch . I shouldn't have to shop in Europe , but I sure will ! Treeless Lover P.S. my Parelli bareback pad in NO WAY feels like my Barefoot Treeless
