Despite what our non-riding friends may think, we all knew that horseback riding was exercise, didn’t we?Now we have proof.
The Joba, the Japanese word for horseback riding, is a piece of exercise equipment that looks like a saddle (stirrups and all!), and simulates the movement of riding a horse. Horseback-simulation machines are very hot in Japan and are now available in the US. The machine pitches and rolls in a figure-eight pattern, gently exercising the thighs and abdominal muscles required for balance. In addition to building your balance, the machines are a gentle workout suitable for rehabilitation and the elderly. I think I still prefer the real thing. Joba Flexes Its Muscles
